DISCLAIMER

All information, source code, and compiled files distributed as part of CipherOS are provided on an "as-is" basis, without warranty of any kind. The CipherOS Project makes no guarantees, express or implied, regarding fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. By choosing to install, flash, build, or otherwise use CipherOS, you accept all associated risks — including but not limited to data loss, hardware damage, bricking, loss of business profits, or loss of warranty coverage. Tampering with system software or hardware may void warranties extended by your device's manufacturer. Always back up your data before flashing.

TERMS OF USE

Certain images, logos, pictures, trademarks, and creative works referenced in CipherOS communications belong to organizations other than the CipherOS Project. These remain the property of their respective owners and are protected under the laws of their registered jurisdictions. CipherOS' usage of such materials constitutes "fair use" under section 107 of the United States Copyright Law (17 U.S.C. § 107), and equivalent provisions in other jurisdictions. Any use beyond fair use requires permission from the respective copyright holder. Requests for removal of any copyrighted material may be sent to [email protected] and will be honored promptly.

PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is fundamental to CipherOS. It is not a feature — it is the foundation. WHAT WE COLLECT Nothing. CipherOS does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, telemetry, diagnostics, crash reports, usage statistics, location data, device identifiers, or behavioral information. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no "phone home" services baked into the operating system. WHAT WE DO NOT DO • We do not sell, share, license, or monetize your data — because we never have it. • We do not embed advertisements into the operating system. • We do not bundle tracking libraries with our system applications. • We do not require an account, sign-in, or registration to use CipherOS. • We do not transmit device identifiers (IMEI, serial numbers, MAC addresses) to our servers. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES CipherOS is an aftermarket operating system. Once installed, you may choose to use third-party applications, services, or Google Mobile Services (on non-Vanilla builds). Any data those services collect is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for third-party data practices. UPDATES & SERVERS When your device checks for an OTA (over-the-air) update, it contacts our update servers to determine whether a newer build is available for your device. This request includes only the information required to deliver the correct update (device codename, current build version) and is not associated with any account or identifier. We do not log this information beyond what is required for delivery and aggregate statistics. YOUR RIGHTS Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Your data lives on your device, under your control, exactly as it should be. CONTACT For any privacy-related question or concern, reach us at [email protected].

OPEN SOURCE COMMITMENT

CipherOS is, and will always remain, a free and open-source operating system. Our complete source code is publicly available at https://github.com/CipherOS and is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (and other compatible licenses, as inherited from AOSP and upstream projects). We make the following promises to our users and community: • CipherOS will always be free of charge. There are no paid tiers, premium features, subscriptions, or hidden costs. • CipherOS will never contain advertisements — neither in system applications, the launcher, settings, nor anywhere else in the OS. • CipherOS will never include telemetry, analytics, or data-collection mechanisms. • Every change we make is auditable through our public commit history. • Anyone may inspect, modify, redistribute, and learn from our code, subject to the relevant open-source license terms.

CipherOS Software License Agreement

This Software License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and the CipherOS Project team. By installing, copying, flashing, building, or otherwise using the CipherOS software ("Software"), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms, do not install or use the Software.

1. License Grant

The CipherOS Project team grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and redistribute the Software in accordance with the terms of the Apache License 2.0, the GNU General Public License v2, and any other applicable upstream licenses inherited from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

2. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by destroying all copies of the Software in your possession. The Agreement will also terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms or conditions. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software.

3. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE CIPHEROS PROJECT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

4. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CIPHEROS PROJECT TEAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES — DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL — ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

5. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and the CipherOS Project team relating to the Software, and supersedes any prior agreements, whether oral or written.

6. Waiver

No waiver of any term or condition shall be deemed a continuing waiver. Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of future enforcement.

7. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
